Dr. Jo Handelsman, Associate Director, White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP)

Dr. Jo Handelsman has served as the Associate Director for Science in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) since 2014, advising the President on science education and expanding scientific and technological capabilities among all segments of the population, including women and minorities. Handelsman, a 2011 recipient of the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring (PAESMEM), is a renowned microbiologist and academic leader.
