Expanding underrepresented minority participation: America’s science and technology talent at the crossroads

Committee on Science Engineering and Public Policy (COSEP). 2011. National Academies Press. -- "The United States stands again at the crossroads: A national effort to sustain and strengthen Science and Engineering must also include a strategy for ensuring that we draw on the minds and talents of all Americans, including minorities who are underrepresented in Science and Engineering and currently embody a vastly underused resource and a lost opportunity for meeting our nation's technology needs." Freeman Hrabowski, President of University of Maryland Baltimore County, and a 1996 PAESMEM winner for the Meyerhoff Scholar Program at UMBC, was chairman of COSEP.
