Presidential Awards for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring (PAESMEM) alumni are invited to the PAESMEM Alumni Meeting, hosted by the National Science Foundation (NSF), April 20-22, 2016.
NSF is seeking a preliminary estimate of alumni who plan to attend the event in the Washington metropolitan area and whether they plan to attend in-person or virtually. Travel grants will be available for those who want to attend on site. Potential attendees should indicate their plans for attending the meeting by filling out the PAESMEM alumni meeting preference form here. (Editor’s Note: Registration has now closed for the Alumni Meeting. 3/17/16.)
In addition to other activities, meeting attendees will observe the 20th Anniversary of the PAESMEM program and recognize the 1996 inaugural awardees – 10 individuals and six organizations.
Previous alumni workshops focused on grant opportunities and ways to expand science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) talent in the United States. Prospective topics this year include details about new programs, such as INCLUDES, a new funding opportunity designed to accelerate successful practices for broadening participation in the STEM fields. (See the "INCLUDES” story in this newsletter.)
