Biography

Elaine Zundl is the Research Director for the Center for Women and Work. Her responsibilities include the development, implementation, and evaluation of research projects for the CWW. Her areas of expertise include research and evaluation of programs that recruit and retain women in engineering and computing especially through co-curricular learning interventions like living-learning communities, undergraduate research experiences, and leadership experiences. Her research interests include integrating an analysis of gender into research methods as a means to innovate, improve outcomes and encourage greater diversity in STEM fields.

Prior to joining the center, Elaine Zundl was Assistant Dean at Douglass Residential College and Director of the Douglass Project for Rutgers Women in Math, Science, and Engineering where she developed programs that promote an inclusive climate for women in STEM at Rutgers.

Elaine is a graduate of Rutgers University.  She holds a B.A. in English and Religion and a Master’s in Women’s and Gender Studies. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers’ Edward J. Bloustein School.
