Kenneth Sajwan has established a visionary mentoring program at Savanna State University, a historically black college and university (HBCU) with over 3000 students. Dr. Sajwan’s work is focused on increasing the quality of students and their commitment to earning undergraduate and graduate STEM degrees. Over a 15 year period, Dr. Sajwan has personally mentored and advised over 58 students all of which have successfully graduated with a B.S. degree in Environmental Science. 30 of these have worked with him on funded research, 16 have gone on to pursue Master’s and Ph.D. degrees. One student has completed a Post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard University Medical School. He has also authored or co-authored 113 publications with his students.
